This is a terrible match. I don’t even know what just happened. I wonder if the results that happened so far is a result of the players or I, the manager. As their leader, I will have to take responsibility for it. I’ll do whatever it takes to turn things around.

I have also managed to bring Rory Worthington, Ryan Simmonds and Jose Inacio in on free transfer. Jose Inacio is definitely the best catch, being the best within the whole league, yet on free transfer. Arnold Neptune was loaned in from Leyton Orient.

A dull match I must say. We drew again. No win so far. This is frustrating me. However, I managed to sign on a few talents to help out.

Chelmsford 2 – 4 Bury

I thought we had this game won by Half Time. Due to Robertson’s mistake, we conceded a penalty. That turned our fortune all around. At first, I thought it will be a win, then a draw, and now, it turned out to be a lost. I was so angry with the team during the post-match talks. I guess the new guys have not gel in. Bonding activities will be planned to help integrate them in. Inacio seems to not be able to communicate with the team, I may have to get another Portugese player in.

I’m looking at:

Mauricio Ruiz

He’s an Argentinian, playing as a Center Back. At the age of 23 years old, his mental and physical ability will allow him to excel in the Blue Square Premier league. If he joins the club, his heading, marking and tackling will be the best, maybe even one of the best in the league. However, the competition to get his signature is tough, we’re up against many teams. Among them are Espanyol B and River Plate.

Carlos Julien

Another Argentinian. Plays as a defensive midfielder. At a young age of 19, his passing and stamina will be unrivaled in the Blue Square Premier league. His first touch and heading ability is also top notch. Definitely someone who can bring the club to another level.

Due to him being contracted to Velez, the only option is to loan him.

Juan Silva

The third Argentinian that I’m looking at plays as a Striker. Only 20 years old. However his pace and acceleration will make him a good striker for the team. Although possessing an average ability to dribble, finish and head the ball to score, his pace and acceleration will be enough. He will be employed to ‘burned’ the defenders and go one-on-one with the goalkeeper.

Contracted to San Lorenzo, the only option is to loan him.

Hopefully the talks will go well, and I’ll be able to enhance the team. An assistant manager will be sought after too.

Tomorrow will be my third match with Chelmsford. It will be against Bishop’s Stortford, who is currently 9th place in the Blue Square Premier league.

Based on what I’ve heard, we dominated the match. We just kept piling on the pressure. However there was very weak finishing, many of the shots were off target. I’m not very impressed by the scoreline. We should have won by more. To do that, we need to keep training the player’s skills, and I’ll need all the clubs’ help for that. We only meet for our international matches, leaving us with little time to brush up on skills.

However, my next match, the Chelmsford – Corby match is pretty motivating.

We go into the match as underdogs. I did not expect us to win. We pushed for a draw and we’ve got it. It must be due to the home crowd. With only a crowd of 800 people watching the match on the stadium, 500 of them were our own fans. We had to give them a great showing. There were many times when I thought we would lose, however we managed to pull through and prevent them from scoring. I hope to bring this draw into the next match and give ourselves a win. Chelmsford will need all the support we can get. To win or lose, is in our hands. We play not with 11 players, not with 16 players. We play with 20 players. 11 main players, 5 bench players, 1 manager, 1 physio, 2 supporters. You make our team strong, be it at home, outside or with us at the stadium.

The match overall was a good experience for me. Mansfield got the first goal, however we equalized 1 minute later. We went into half time at 1-1. The 2nd half prove to be more thrilling, with Stuart Parkes putting our side in front on 79 minutes with a header from the 6 yard box. Everyone was delighted with the strike, thinking we can take home the 3 points today. Our fortune changed when Lewis Codling scored the equalizer. Our team piled on the pressure to try to get the full 3 points today. It was not meant to be ours when Aldridge scored the winning goal in injury time.

Mistakes from both sides lead to goals. With this match, I seek to change the fortune of the club. With that, after a very tense atmosphere in the dressing room, doing a debrief of the match today, I found 3 players that interest me from our parent club, Leyton Orient.

I offered for a loan for Chan Tak Fai, Cansdell-Sheriff and Neptune. All who have abilities better than our strongest player, definitely a must have to move up the table. My goal is to finish within the top 10.

I’m still looking for more people. To speed up the process, as we are in the middle of the season, I decided to place ads for all positions.

Things will get tougher as the squad overall is not very strong. It will take good squad harmony with the right loans and tactics, we should be able to get out of the relegation zone. Tomorrow will be my first match against Mansfield, it will be on away grounds. Hopefully things will be good, and it will give me a chance of how well the team can play in a real match against a similar level opposition.

I have agreed to take up the vacant position. Things will get busy from today onwards. I have booked an emergency flight to Chelmsford to discuss further matters. However, all communication with the club will be through the email from now.

Will have to prepare the administrative stuff now, choosing of the captain, reviewing of the squad. There will be a huge chance of having the backroom revamp. As read from a book, the leader is the cause of the decline or rise of the organization. Be prepared for news.

However, the main thing is, after 2 months of relaxation, I cannot take it and will be planning to get back to management. I have declared interest in a number of insecure manager positions yesterday. They are:

Liverpool Boss Shocking Resignation

ENGLAND Liverpool boss, Chiong Winston, had resigned at 7am (SINGAPORE TIME) today. There was no news regarding this decision from the past week, however the management did not seem shocked regarding his decision. A search for a new manager to take over the now vacant post is on.

Winston have been at Liverpool for 6 years, closing in on 7 years. Over his time there, he have gained the respect of many within the organization. Following his dismissal was 11 other backroom members, who were known to respect the 37 years old. They are:

The New Paper have managed to get an interview from Winston with Skype.

TNP: Hi, Winston. It is our honor to be speaking with you now. How has your day been?

W: Hi. I was not expecting an interview from the Singapore media till my return. I’m packing up my stuff right now. To be honest, I cannot bear to leave this place. It contains all the bitter and sweet times that I have gone through.

TNP: Speaking of bitter and sweet times, it reminds me when you first started out as the first Asian manager of Liverpool. Everyone was so proud, although you did not have a strong credential, your application was accepted.

W: I was surprised by that too. Liverpool was my favourite club. Since young, I have been following them. After getting my license, I decided to try out for the club. They were kind of struggling at that time, I wanted to revive the club. Everyone around me was so against it, however when I was accepted, everyone was just lost for words. Even Rafael Benitez sent me a congratulatory message.

TNP: Well, 6 years have past. Over the years, you have garnered a reputation for yourself. 18 personal awards won in total with 3 consecutive European Champions Cup, League Cup and League titles, 2 consecutive Super Cup, Community Shield, Super Cup and FA Cup. Not mentioning a few other titles and cups. And also becoming the manager of Norway and now, England, leading them to their first World Cup title in a long while and the European Football Championship.

W: I could not have done those without the help of all players and backroom members. I started out when the club had little money to spent, and build it up. My focus was on the youngsters. I wanted to build a team that can sustain itself in the long run. You can say I’m the Liverpool’s Arsene Wenger. However, I’ve spent a total of S$1.2b on getting in 53 players over the years.

TNP: Wow! That’s alot of money. The club was not angry about it?

W: The first owner limited my spendings, there were times when arguments ensued. When the new owner took over, my budget was increased to more than 100m every season. At first, I had to sell players to get money. In total, S$424m worth of players were sold. It helps to provide financing for the club. So, they weren’t really mad about it. Plus, I produce results, so they got the returns they want.

TNP: The new stadium, Rush Park, was built in 2015 for the season just ended. Are there any feelings towards Anfield?

W: Everyone was pretty emotional about it, especially players like Gerrard and Carragher. Stevie and Jamie had petitioned for the history of Anfield to be shown within the new stadium and many of us actually kept a bottle of a handful of the pitch. The new stadium’s design is modeled after Anfield, with great improvements in technology. The place looks similar yet feels so different.

TNP: Everyone must be sad about it. It must be the same when you left?

W: Everyone was emotional about it too. However, there will be a party tonight. All Liverpudians are invited, legends, favourites and icons of Liverpool are invited. I was told that I am a savior of Liverpool. I’m honored by that, however I just want the squad to stay strong and embrace the values we believed in.

TNP: Are there anyone who you will miss most?

W: I’ll definitely miss Gerrard, Carragher,Torres, Alba, Plinio, Lima and everyone else.

TNP: What are your plans for the future?

W: I’m not too sure of it yet. I’m planning to rest and visit my family back in Singapore before planning yet again. However, I resigned from Liverpool due to the success I have achieved. I feel that I have reach the peak. I want to challenge myself further. Not to say that Liverpool provides no more challenges for me, however I know that the players will represent me, my soul, my values when playing in future. I wanted to move on. Liverpool will always be in my heart. I’ll be there for them when they need. I hope to meet them in a match in future. Maybe I’ll challenge myself with leading a small team and bring it up to the top. I hope Liverpudians and the squad will still welcome me.

TNP: Any tips for managers who want to follow in your footstep?

W: Dare to dream. Nothing is too big for you. Do not follow Chiong Winston, follow your heart. You are what you are and what you think, learn from what I did, but do not attempt to follow what I exactly do. Know why I did that and what can be learnt. That way, you can even be leading some of the best clubs such as AC Milan, Inter Milan and Barcelona who are in front of us in terms of coefficients now.
